Member Contributions
WHAT ARE ANNUAL MEMBER CONTRIBUTIONS?
MAEVE MWGP is a member-supported non-profit. The bulk of our operational costs, community and members-only programming, and charitable service are supported by the generous contributions of our members! More member contributions result in more service and improved member benefits.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I CONTRIBUTE?
We want you to choose an amount that works for you and your family and we believe that finances should never be a barrier to entry or support. Economic justice requires honesty, compassion, and active participation from each member. Paying according to one’s available resources ensures accessibility for all and also that there continues to be maximum benefit to the members, the operational success of the chapter, and the community our chapter serves.
WHAT IS THE AVERAGE CONTRIBUTION?
The average contribution truly varies! To give you an idea (as everyone asks!), the average is $75 but we have members that give $0 and others that give $150+, with returning members donating more, knowing the value our organization offers. We are very appreciative of any donation we receive, whether it be financial or time.
IS MY CONTRIBUTION AMOUNT CONFIDENTIAL?
Absolutely and we insist upon it. Only select board members involved in the administration process can access contribution information. Any member violating this policy is subject to expulsion.
WHERE DOES MY CONTRIBUTION GO?
80% of your contribution supports the non-profit mission of MAEVE MWGP, community initiatives, charitable service, and charitable service. Of that amount, we aim to have 35% go towards operational costs.
20% or less of your contribution supports members-only programming, events, and benefits.
WHY THESE PERCENTAGES?
MAEVE MWGP is a nonprofit public benefit corporation. The mission is the primary goal and in doing so, we aim to abide by guidelines outlined by the IRS.
